Day Ninety

SO here we are!  90 days have flown by and I have a lot to share today!!!

At the beginning of this time, I had a big plan to lose 50 pounds in the first 90 days.  I hit it hard, and worked it with enthusiasm.  Days went by, then weeks and I was really excited about the weight loss.  Clothes were fitting again, and I felt better too.  It was a win win...

Then February hit and somehow I lost momentum but a bit.  I had tons of things pop up that I let influence my plan and I did not lose as fast as I wanted to.  Was that ok?  It had to be at the time but I did still lose and kept moving on...It was a fabulous month full of trips, anninversary celebrations and my birthday too.  No wonder things got off track:)

March came and again I lost momentum.  I kept losing which was great.  I also let things slip that I could have managed better.  I can see that now.  With my back being out that totally threw me as well and I could not exercise for a bit.  Amazing how we let ourselves get down when something like that happens... I can take a good step back and see what I needed to do in order to make results happen even faster.

What needs to happen?  First, today I am totally recommitted and getting back on the horse.  I did not fall off, just leaned a little and need to be stronger in my saddle:)  So launches another 90 days where I will do as I set out to do...post each day, bring snacks with me for my busy days and get to the gym again now that my back is getting better:)  That leaves three months to hit my goal!!!

What are my goals now?  Still to hit that 50 pounds...and what are the results right now?????

Drumroll please

I have lost 23 pounds!!!  And can wear clothes two sizes smaller than I could which is AWESOME!

Got results???  I do!  Today was a super day to be on the scale..I am SO excited about hitting 19 pounds today!!!  How does this happen?  I am doing what I started out to do just over two months ago.

I want to ask how you feel about the way you feel?  Are you tired from everyday activities?  Would you benefit from being healthier?  I know that I am surprised everyday at the changes I see in my own life due to the weight loss so far.  It is really a great way to start your day!

Day Sixty five

Just like brand new snow that looks so amazing, and then melts to reveal the ugly dirty snow beneath it we have to be careful to stay in the attitude of new snow.  What the heck am I talking about?

Yesterday I had new photos taken thanks to my dear friend Joy of Augeson Photography.  She spent the time needed to get the most amazing shots, ones that I love!  Now, in the past I would have criticized all of the photos personally noting all the things I hate about the way I look.  Yes, I am that weird!

This time, I started a little and then pulled right back.  I am excited about these photos, and even shared them!  My friends told me that they loved them too and now?  I am so happy to have them AND look at them.  Why not?  Why do we pick ourselves apart that way?

Today I challenge you to think in the mindset of new snow.  It is all prettied up and looking fresh.  Let yourself enjoy without being critical.  Just smile , inside and out.

Day Sixty Four

Happy Monday!  Todays attitude is one of abundance...and I am glad about that.  I think that today will be a good day for goal setting!  And to start that off, I am setting my first goal publicly.  Today, all day I will follow my plan just like when I started it out two months ago.

Progress is important and it is really fun for me to discover what works, and what doesnt...even when things go wrong, they are helping me to make progress...toward my goal of 50 pounds in 90 days...

Day Sixty Two

Fabulous Fridays...I love them!  It is definitely crunch time when I hit Friday mornings, and my business is on a roll.  There is so much to do when I am moving forward and LOOKING forward to a weekend full of fun.

Today, the scale challenged me a bit.  I am still headed downward just two pounds from last week but that is ok.  I am back on track, working the plan better than the entire month of February and it is starting to show.

Just last month I was walking in the beautiful waters of Cancun Mexico.  What a treat!  I thought about not showing this photo as I am still working on feeling great in photos.  Hey, what would I tell my friends and family if it were them???  Enjoy life, and let it show!  So today I share with you a photo of a dream.  I earned my trip free with Creative Memories, but the cool thing is that I have the photos to remember the whole trip!  And I am in them:)

Be proud of who you are, and work to improve the things that you do not like...you can do it too.

Day Fifty Six

Today is another Friday to start a weekend full of fun...my life is SO GOOD!  I am in the best of moods, and at the same time I am very aware of my neglecting the plan...I can see that I am not blogging everyday which also means that first thing in the morning I am not checking in with the plan.  Dont get me wrong, I am working it, but there are definite things slowing my progress.

Exercise has been added more...

Sticking with the meal plan although very often is dinner out.  Or lunch/special events meals.

Numbers on the scale have slowed in progress...

So today, down a pound since last week which is great considering the added intake of special stuff.

This weekend is away, but I vow to behave and plan accordingly.  Enjoy without overindulgence and make good choices too!

Day Fifty Three

Happy Monday everyone!  Ok, yes I am aware that it is Tuesday but as the holiday weekend ended it feels like Monday to me.  Lots to do this week and my lists are LONG!  Tonight is the second week of our Tecki Tuesday classes at Park Place in Plymouth.  What a GREAT central location!

I love Mondays, as I get a fresh start and today it is all about scheduling.  Have you ever had lots of papers that kept piling up, and wondered how you could get a handle on them?  I think it is the same for my weight loss plan, where each week I need to get a handle on it.  Before things pile up and take over!!!  I know that I can get lost in my messes:)

This week, I am going to put my January first mind back on.  I have just over a month to finish my first phase goals and they are HUGE!  This weekend, I joined the gym...a Fitness 19 club here in the cities.  Tomorrow will be my first day there and I am super excited to see the results of big excercise added to things I am doing at home.  YAY!

Set your goals high, and reconnect with them today.  Get on board for changes, BIG changes towards things that you want to accomplish...

Day Fifty Two

Snow day here in Minnesota and it is so much fun!  From the inside anyway...I heard some areas got 18 inches of the white stuff, but for us it did not even cover the sidewalk.  WOW!  This is beautiful, and not so bad...I thought.  Then we looked at the front steps where the drifting covered everything!  That made it a little different than previously thought.

First impressions can be deceptive sometimes...the things you see might be what you want to see.  Taking a quick glance doesn't help to make the most informed decision as to how you would proceed...where am I going with this? After spending the entire day on paperwork yesterday I am just thinking a lot...my brain is on overdrive.  I guess the most important thing to me is that the more you learn about something, or someone the better you can give them the chance that they may deserve.  Have you ever made a quick assumption about someone that you might have regretted after getting to know that person?  I know I have.

Allright, so lets get a little motivated here.  Snow day or not, it is time to think about what life has to offer ande how we can offer ourselves!!!  Todays quote:

Day Fifty

Seriously???  Now this is really happening...today I joined Fitness 19, a workout club here in the twin cities.
What does that mean?  Now I am TOTALLY committed to losing even faster and getting in great shape for this summer.  I am VERY excited about this and looking forward to working with Joe there.  I stopped in there for a vendor event today where I found several new friends, and lots of old ones.  I visited with Terri with American Family, LoAnn with Herbalife, Dr. Tony...a chiropractor, Tara with Darque Tan, and many more.  Vendor events are like mini family reunions for me:)

I dont know what my plan is yet for working out there, but am excited to meet with the trainers there to find out how I can make FASTER progress to my goal of 50 in the first 90 days of my plan:)

Day Forty Nine

Happy Friday!  Although most of the friends I know love Fridays, this is kind of my stressy day, if I have one.  Fridays are usually the day where things have to get wrapped up for the week, and it can be rushed!  So much to do, and so little time today...could someone please send me a few extra  hours today?

After yesterday, my birthday I am ready for a good day full of my plan again.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner out from restaurants was super fun!  I did not overdo it at all, and was careful with my choices.  So today, I am proud to say that I have gained a pound and a half.  Friday weigh ins really help me stay on track.  Although I weigh each day here, I am really watching Fridays to track the progress.  I am SO ok with this as I have had a week in Cancun, trip to Duluth, and now birthday fun plus anniversary dinner.  WOW what a month!!!  And it is not even through yet!

Getting excited about your life is so important.  Many of the things in it that can drive you nuts are also things that we choose to be in our lives.  That is important to remember, isnt it?

Day Forty Seven

YOWZA!!!  where did the time fly to?  I am quickly realizing that although I am learning a lot, and working the plan...I can do it a lot better and stronger.  Life does happen, and when my whole last three weeks went off the schedule with vacation, and other events, I see that my first 90 days is half through!!!  I need to ensure my results and make the difference that I promised myself I would do.

Todays start was a good one, as I am home and back from Cancun, Duluth and other fun event.  I love my shakes, and there are a lot of my family and friends starting the same plan as I am on.
WITH THEIR OWN RESULTS TOO!!!!

Today, being back on the internet will be a good start along with getting to the store to pick up what I need for my shakes an snacks.  Dude, time is running out!!!  The biggest thing is that with goals like this, I need to keep it in front of me no matter what else comes up.  It is time to regain control and make it happen!!!

Day Forty Four

Another amazing day planned and I started out wondering how to move through it.  I am SO much more aware of how and what I am eating and knowing that it will make an overall difference through the choices I make.  First of all, we made blueberry pancakes for breakfast since I have been gone so much lately and will take off again for our Anniversary.  I definitely beleive that being aware is the  number one key here to the weight loss.  Do the program that works for you, but know what it is and how you need to work it to ensure progress and success.

I guess that goes for everything in life.  Take my business for example...as I know what my goals are, I also have a plan to get there with the steps that will take me through it to success.  Hmmm...everything is like one big part of the plan, isnt it?

Today, good choices...without going without.  I am excited about the potential of today!

Day Forty Two

At least I think it is day 42:)

BACK FROM CANCUN!  I am SO excited and had the best time ever.  First of all, it was an amazing adventure being there, and to have earned the trip?  YAY!  Even better.  Now to the plan.  I weighed in when I got home and guess what?  STILL at just over 15 pounds, which is awesome.  I felt really great in my better fitting clothes, and got tons of complements too.  I even did the conga line at our final nights dance.  It was a  super trip.

Food?  YES there was so much of it, and yes, I did eat what I wanted...funny thing is that some of those meals, I wanted less or parts of it but when offered choices I choose so much better than before starting the plan.  Today I am excited to get back on my shakes, and go toward the next 50 or so days.  I just know it will fall off again, and have even started the treadmilling at home.

A great trip, steady results, and a smile on  my face today!

Day Thirty Five

Friday...yep its time to check the progress.  Ok, on the scale I go....and...

YAY!  I went up two pounds this week!  Why am I excited?  I absolutely refuse to give into negative thoughts that would be a number defininng my success so far on my plan.  My clothes fit great, and my new dress is two sizes smaller than I thought I would be already.  I bet that I am adding muscle as now I am working out more:)

It is sometimes hard to keep motivating yourself.  Honestly, it is easy to fall off track sometimes with a busy life.  Kids, work, driving from location to location...it means there is room to stray , and I have somewhat.  There have been little things along the way that did change, but the one thing that did not is that everyday I can start over.  Each time when I get home I can get back on track.  Even when I am away, it is easy to bring the proper snacks to make a difference.  I see one in my mirror!!!

Day Thirty Four

Hey, its almost vacation for me and I am SO excited...I bought a fun dress for a banquet and it is two sizes smaller than last years!  Yahoo, my plan is working and I am going to take lots of photos there to share.

Some days it is hard to see the progress while on a big plan.  Really, when there is a big goal, and you are taking baby steps?  How do you keep t he motivation???   Well, a new dress will carry me being happy for a while, until the next milestone:)

What does it take for you to stay on track when life has so many little distractions like candy hearts sitting by our computer.  :)  I am focusing on that dress for today!

Day Thirty Two

There are times in our lives when we are SO looking forward to something happening, that will be brand new and exciting.  Although I do not know anything about my day yet, except for one small detail I am really going to make the most of it anyway.  Is that weird???

Sometimes in life it is just fine to go with the flow.  Imagine standing in a strong stream, trying to stay up and not get knocked over.  Believing in  your goal is just one important part of the strength you will gain.  Now imagine having a friend there helping you stand.  It sure seems easier when there are others helping you and believing in the goal.  Ok, imagine one more time that your friend is not helping you stay up, but is standing on one leg, or sitting and letting the stream carry them a bit.  It takes the ease away, and adds to your struggles to stay  upright.

Are the people in your life helping you to stand?  Or are they simply there to pull you down?  And if you are on your way down, are there times that is ok and part of life?  That is for you to decide...

Day Thirty One

Mondays.  How I love them!  Well today is just as wonderful, and let me tell you why.  I had a revalation this weekend and it is SO funny how it practically jumped in front of me.  I know from being  a Minnesotan, that we love to feed our people.  If you show up at someones house, they offer you something to drink and eat.  If you go somewhere for an event, there is food, and they expect  you to eat.  Minnesota just puts on a big feast wherever you go!

Funny also, is the fact that we do it to our own kids!  Just this morning I was thinking how nice it would be if I made them blueberry pancakes.  Although they had to have breakfast anyway, so pancakes were a nice treat.  I guess the idea is to make sure you need to eat, when you are offered something and accept it.  Otherwise it just gets messy:)

Today, I am TOTALLY believeing that I can do this.  I know how hard can be to turn down the normal things like Birthday cake, or other treats when you just dont need to eat them.  It is common courtesy to accept.  Now, lets just hope there is nothing yummy in Cancun while I am on my trip.  Or do I simply be ok with better choices?

Day Twenty Nine

Weekends are supposed to be fun, and relaxing as we catch our breath from a busy week.  NOT!!!

I want it to be fun, but my little girlie is home without anyone to play with.  That leaves me to be the playmate, and I have a lot to do today.  It is two weeks from Valentines Day and I want to decorate, make treats for the kiddies and more. How can I get it all done???

Reality has a way of throwing a curve ball into your plans.  Reality, kind of a mean word sometimes too.
How does reality come into my life?  Usually strong, and in my face.  I need to be flexible, and creative to get through those actual things that must be dealt with on a daily basis...there is a way, a plan for me...

For me, the lesson is simple.  Write it out everyday, the things you have to do and the things you want to do.  I set the timer and go for each thing on the list.  If I run out of time, thats life.  Get what you can done, but dont forget to have the creative and play time too.  Shopping, winter sport and more are possible when you work hard together and get the work done too.  My goal is to scan hundreds of photos today.  Last weekend was a bust, and I need to finish my parents photo book since they are on sale through the end of January.

Here is a page from another project...it is easy, just by using Storybook Creator.

Day Twenty Eight

WOW!  Two posts in one day...reason being, I am getting my butt back on track so here goes..

Today is FRIDAY!  you know what that means...yep.  Weigh in day!!!  I am excited to tell you that this morning, just 28 days into my plan I am 15 pounds lighter.  YAHOO!  Cool??? Although I went down to 17 this week and back up two, I am sure that by the time I leave for Cancun I will be down 20 total.

It sure is motivating to get a big number on the scale, but how does it really make you FEEL?  That  is what is the most important of all...if you feel like you are defeated and that the journey is too long and far away til the end, the how do you make those little steps to get there???

Today, take those baby steps and for goodness sakes celebrate the little things!

Todays quote:

Day Twenty Seven

Today was such a fun day!  It started out with exciting news, then built to include a Valentines Vendor opportunity.  And finally, hanging out with my kids in front of the TV.  So I loved the day, but it got away from me a bit.  Actually the last two days or so...and here is what I am thinking this morning...

It is super easy to stop thinking and do what  you did not think you would.  For example, although I had a plan for my food that day, several little snack opportunities rose up and got me into trouble.  Tonight there was a wonderful snack spread on display at my friends vendor booth.  She has a great company of natural foods and had brought things to sample.  I did behave overall, and just had probably 5-6 small sample bites, but following a few other things over the past two days where I did the same?  Trouble.

Stick to the plan Annette, just stick to the plan.  I have a lot to lose before the end of my 90 day challenge and do NOT want to be disappointed in doing my best.  Today, stricktly back on track.  Two shakes, two snacks, two teas and a good meal.:)

Day Twenty Six

I don't even like cake..normally.  But last night we had a fabulous celebration in my honor and it was so fun to join in the cake eating.  Why?  I think sometimes we do things because it is socially acceptable, and I dont know why else.  It isn't that I hate cake, just that normally I do not see the point in taking in the calories unless it is something that I really love!  Not only was the cake tasty though, it was perfectly pink!!!

I wanted to share this photo with you today as well.  I am excited as I am super proud of my progress so far and think the photos show that.  Even though I have a long way to go I am CELEBRATING!

Day Twenty Five

So, Funny story.  Today I was really behaving on my plan and I almost ran out of shake mix...and I thought, how can I say how important it is to be prepared for situations and not have what I need to succeed?

Hmmm...I wonder why the lack of preparedness...could it be simply a busy life?  How about not thinking it could happen to me?  Why, when the plan is so easy to follow did I almost lose track of the most important planning of all?

Have you ever been ill prepared for something so important and such a big part of your life?  I will be making plans for success, and keeping on track for the rest of my week now.  Make sure that you can do the same, and know what you need to have in place for success!

Day Twenty Four

I would start this post with " I love Mondays!" but I think most of you already know that.  Lets do somethin totally different and kick off the new week with new ideas.  Random, fun ideas that are going to challenge me.

Breakfast this morning was not the usual planned shake, instead I shared my daughters breakfast so as not to waste food.  Normally this is not a good idea for a Mom to clean up leftovers from the kids, but this time it was a very conscious decision.  You see, Maddie is a very good cook.  This morning she made an egg and cheese on bagel sandwich but only could eat half of it.  I thought about breakfast before making a choice and that was the difference.

Do you know how to make good choices?  If you are thinking about them, it is a lot easier!  If you need to, write down what you are doing and then take a look at what you want to change.  You can see there are patterns to the habits we have.  Make  good habits, which lead to better decisions.

Day Twenty Three

So its Sunday , again...and what a wonderfully relaxing day it has been.  I have been blog hopping lately and learning about some other friends lives  Isnt it cool how we can catch up with those that are far away?  For example, my cousins daughter got married and I got to look at 70 or so photos just taken and posted on FB.  Cool?  Yeah...then I read up on my college daughters blog today and learned she is making cookies this afternoon...cool?  yeah.  After that, I received a cute photo of my parents taken by a friend in my email.  Cool?  yeah...

Staying in touch is very cool.  Remember the days when there would be a letter in the mailbox so that you could catch up with family?  Or a phone call during the holidays?  Well, now our journeys are captured online and shared with many, within minutes.  I like it!

23 days into this new plan and through different situations, challenges and  more I am able to share my progress with who ever wants to read about it.  I now have 4 friends that have joined me in weight loss with Herbalife.  It is working for them too, and we love it!  Share your stories...

90 Days To Make It...the blog

90 Days

This question has been asked many times, and there is only one great answer to it.  I decided that I can do anything that I put my mind to in 90 days.  I can learn to be a better Mom, a better wife, or a better photographer.

My plan is to achieve success in whatever I take on...The trick is to actually DO IT!  Making goals that are achievable and working toward my big goal of working my Creative Memories business full time, and for full time income can be done.  My decision was to put it all into place in 90 days.

What can you do?  Ask yourself, what do you WANT to do?  You can do it too.

Read my first 90 days blog and find out what I did in just three months!

Day Twenty Two

It has been a long time since haing a whole weekend where nothing was really planned.  I think the holidays, and the busy end of year business made last month very intense.  It was a lot of fun but this weekend is all mine! Sure, the family is here which will take lots of time but thats ok.  Afterall, I chose to have a family:)

As I write, I am constantly hearing the noises of a busy house and thinking how important it is to remember that distractions are normal.  They sure have been while on my new plan.  People call, things come up and life goes on.

This morning, I jumped right to getting organized in my office.  It all goes right back to being prepared for the unexpected, AND the expected.  Simply put it just easier to function when your ducks are in a row:)

Day Twenty One

Today is Friday, and we all know what that means!  Get on the scale girlfriend, and check for results...

Drumroll please...today, just three weeks into my plan I am at 14.2 pounds lost!  Even cooler than that is the inches lost.  Although I did not measure when I started, I can tell you that my clothes are fitting SO well that I am just smiling, only 21 days into this plan.  YAHOO!  I could say I have a long way to go...I could say to myself that it is not much in the big picture but it is so much  more important to me to celebrate the good things than hold onto the icky stuff.

So today is motivating for me.  I am inspired in so many ways.  Yes, I still have my cold...but that is ok.  New things are happening, and the potential for great things is coming too.  Life is good, and I am excited.

This morning when I got up,  it was 25 degrees below zero here in sunny Dayton, MN.  I thought about being cold but decided that it would be more fun to think about my friend Stephany in TX and how her weather would be 100 degrees hotter than here.  Silly?  yes, but it made me smile.

What makes you smile?  I mean what really makes you so happy that you smile and just cant help it?  Are you celebrating those things in your busy days?  Who in your life is special to you?  Just a thought today...

Day Nineteen

WOW!  Does anyone know where Wednesday went?  It started out with a little cold around here, then slipped into a foggy tired day where much got done, but none of it really remembered!  Today will be better...today will be better.

Again I must say that having a plan, whatever that might be will help keep you on track.  It did for me.  Even through yesterday I knew what I would be doing with my food and being sick was not changing that.  Ok, it was not like a stomach bug or fever, just a congested thing.  So that would have been different I am sure.

I am really excited today as another of my peeps talked to LoAnn about getting started on Herbalife too. I bet the quality of health will be felt very soon.  I know it is for me... Usually a five to seven day cold is normal but I think about 48 hours and I will be back to almost normal...if I ever was:)

Cant wait to share results tomorrow...it is funny, I get on the scale every single day.   Normally that is not recommended but I have a lot to do in a little time and wnat to make sure I am very much on top of my game.  With a busy last week full of events, fast food and more, my progress is still moving nicely.  LoAnn did say that  we could measure in inches too, but I did not choose that. For me it is more important to feel good in my clothes than measure how many inches I lost.  I do know it is many many inches already as I can fit into all of my summer clothes from last year, which were way too tight.  That is in just three short weeks on the Herbalife plan!  Hooray, it means not buying tons of new things for my trip to Cancun next month.

Take care of yourself today, like you would a good friend.  You might just need you in the future sometime!

Day Eighteen

Isn't it funny how just after you mention never getting sick, you catch a cold?  Yeppers, that is our household right now.  A few with a cold, some just fine.  But definitely we have the winter yuk.  Being sick sure can throw you off schedule, including sleep and meals.  It seems like nobody wants to eat what they normally eat.  That is a Mom's nightmare and a challenge to deal with.  I guess there is more catering to get through it all, and to make sure they are eating enough good food when nothing tastes normal.  I am so glad for me it is easy to just keep on my plan...

Wish us good luck today!  And that the sniffles are history by the time we wake up tomorrow:)

Day Seventeen

Can you hear me singing the Happy Monday song???  Yes, its true that I love Mondays.  I blog about them often.  They are a fresh start, and a new beginning every single week!  Why wait until a new year to start something when you can do it anytime you want and Mondays are AWESOME!

Today I discovered something very cool about my  morning shakes.  I really like to dump everything into one morning shake instead of putting things into two drinks.  Let me explain...

In the morning I have a shake for breakfast which is normal for us around here, being smoothie lovers.  Ok, so I also mix the Herbalife tea, and aloe concentrate for a drink in the mornings.  So that is two drinks...Well I was chatting with LoAnn ( my coach) and she said you can put the teaspoon of tea and Tablespoon of aloe right into your shake and not know it.  I did that a couple times over the weekend and it worked super.  Also, as I am always on the run that ensures that I get in everything I am trying to do in the morning and then I am free until lunch!  So...I just got the easy plan to get easier!  I love it...

Today I think streamlining will be my mission in my biz and life.  I have lots to do and am excited that it just got easier.

Day Sixteen

Are you a shopper?  When a good bargain comes your way, do you find it almost irresistable?  This week I was at the local Walmart where the Christmas clearance was at 90%.  I was super excited to pick up a few things for a dime each.  When I got home, I knew that I had scored big time and spent so very little...and it is the same for me and the plan I am on.  I feel like I totally scored, and that is a good thing.

I was talking to a family member yesterday who just started on a new diet plan.  She is really ready to make a change as well...and we both knew we had picked different programs and believe that they will work for us.  I know that the Herbalife is easiest for me as I do not have to "think" every time I have a meal or snack.  I really needed that part of this plan to succeed.  LoAnn, my coach is there to help me with that part and I am very grateful.

Day Fifteen

Weekends are all about fun and family!  And with that comes big breakfasts and my hubby cooking.  He is a super cook, and when he is in charge of the kitchen there is plenty for everyone.  Including invited family...Today was no exception and it was a lot of fun to see my FIL and SIL this morning.  What was on the menu?  Potato Pancakes, and Venison Hash...

The idea is to enjoy what you are eating and learn how to balance out the rest of your day.  I find that the more I am working this plan, the less scary it is to change the ways I do things.  Is it that way through the rest of my life too?  I guess it is.  Changing what needs to be changed while keeping true to yourself is the big challenge.  I am totally up for it and loving what I am doing.

Remember that we are all human.  We can adapt and change when we need to.  I hope that I continue to enjoy this change!  I am ready for it.

Day Fourteen

Friday!  Happy Happy Friday...and why do you ask?  Well, of course it is the beginning of the weekend so my family will be around more.  But the cool thing with my new plan and Fridays is that I can check on my progress for the past week and let you know how it is going.  Let's go over this week and what has happened in real life with me.

Last week I had a really great Friday, weighing in 12 pounds less than when I started.  Hooray!  I absolutely believe in the plan that my coach LoAnn has been helping me with.  I love the products and how they apply to my daily life.
Saturday we had a big team party and so there was just a little off track action.  I did try the peppermint bark, which was really amazing.  But overall, I did a good job and was truly aware of what my actions were.  That right there is a difference for me.
Sunday, we ran crazy as a family and I planned to take off for Bismarck Monday morning, but stayed on track quite well...
Monday morning, I packed a couple of snacks, and took off for ND.  Oh, but there was snow.  And lots of it...,my plan did not work so well when we had to stop for fast food along the way.  Our trip time doubled, and we had quick cheese sticks appetizer in ten minutes for dinner until about Midnight when our friend had pizza for us.  Yummy?  Sure, but on the plan?  Not really.
Tuesday, the day to come home...again not really working the plan as I thought I would.   I had totally forgotten to get the portable shake mixes from LoAnn.  That would have helped me stay on track.  Ok, We drove forever, missed dinner again while lost in Millbank SD and ate while driving through fast food since there were no restaurants open after 9pm.  Home at 2am, and then came Wednesday.
Wednesday, up just 4 hours later and run to Networking meeting.  BACK on track...YAY!  But  man, I was dragging...being off healthy and off exercise ( just a little while on the road) slowed me down a bit.
Thursday, back a little more and felt more in control again.  Until son came home with lunch.  Hmmm...
Thursday night, big vendor event I put on...it would be fun.  I stayed away from what I should...but yes, did have some of daughters drive through dinner on the way.
Today, back on track again...you see there is never a time when you cant begin again.  Being in control is important and I know it.  Sure last week was picture perfect, but life snuck in this week.  I need to plan for when things come up.  That is the lesson of the week.  Having a plan, and a backup plan will help me succeed in my goals.  Today, I am still down 1.5 pounds and I have learned enough to carry me through.

Day Thirteen

Typing in the title for the day, I just thought of how today is all about being a teenager and figuring things out for the first time.  Isnt it funny how we can think just because we are somewhere, that we arrived at something we worked for that we deserve to stay there?  Why is that?

It reminds me of a friend that I had a long chat with.  She is AMAZING!  A very talented photographer that has worked hard for many years.  I must say that she has a very unique style and captures the most incredible moments in peoples lives.  So we were chatting about how she would love for her calendar to be full with sessions, and how it is hard to be in business for many years but have a slow month.  Hmmm...my friend and I asked a few simple questions.  The chat was really awesome and brought her back to what she loves...helping people capture the amazing moments in their lives so that they can be cherished for years and years in the photographs.

You see, you might have worked really hard to get somewhere, but that does not mean that you deserve to stay there forever without working hard to do so.  Never lose the perspective that success is a constant.  It is consistent and needs to be reviewed and updated often.  Keep things fresh, and apply those changes.  Just because you have been doing something for a long time does not mean that you are doing a good job with it anymore.  Be the best you can be everyday and the positive attitude that you omit might just encourage others to do the same!

Day Twelve

Lesson one...remember to keep  moving in a positive direction toward your goal.

Lesson two...remember when all else fails, to start over with lesson one.

Ok, so the two day drive was a mess as far as the diet.  There really is no good way to make a shake on the road, while white knuckling it through North and South Dakota.  There were some good lessons, and the first was simple.  Keeping your eyes on the prize means that even though you have to do something a little different than the plan it is easier to make good decisions along the way.  I tried to do that, although sometimes it did not work out perfectly.  Yes, I ate some of the wrong foods, but did have smaller portions of the bad stuff:)  Now, I am home and back on track.

The plan is still working, and I feel better when I am working it.  I know it will be a better way to live, and I am excited to get going again!

Day eleven

It is SO snowy here in North Dakota and today is the big drive home...yesterday was super stressful and it was a snowy blur, seeing about 20 cars in the ditch.  For my diet yesterday was truly difficult.  Although I had a plan the unexpected things that came up with a hard long drive for ten hours.  I did not do the exact things I thought I would but that is ok...today will be another challenge, and I can only do what I can to stay on track...

Day Ten

So today is a big day!  Monday morning and I just love Mondays!  Why?  It is like getting a new start every single week:)  Today I am off for a big drive to North Dakota.  What does this mean to my new plan?  I have planned for this and although I know and expect there to be a few changes, I have the right tools in place.  I plan to succeed during the two days gone, and am looking forward to seeing how I do.

Check in tomorrow!  I will post from the road...

Day Nine

I am feeling a little guilty.  This morning I woke up and just like every other day this week I got right to the exercising...and then I thought, Hey this is Sunday.  I argued with myself about whether or not it would be ok to exercise on the day of rest...until I remembered that I pretty much rested for the last 44 years!  :)

It all comes down to how badly you want something, and what you are willing to do to make it happen.  This is a change that I am SO ready for, and is right before me.  It is my choice how much I am willing to put into it.  Whether it is Sunday or not, I stayed on track and worked the plan...today started out great and I expect nothing less from the rest  of it.

Day Eight

Have you ever been on a diet and you find yourself in a room surrounded by amazing holiday foods, that you get to enjoy just once or twice a year?  WOW!  That was my today:)  All I can say is YUMMM!

Today, I knew that I would be celebrating the promotion of my friend Sue, and gathering with our friends.  I also knew that this day would be 12 hours of creative time, a big special luncheon and snacks on the buffet that would go on for miles.  Everything looked great and what a big treat!  What did I do?

First, I had a plan.  I had the breakfast that I have all week.  Even though I was running busy, I knew that I had to stick with the plan.  If I set myself up with a plan, I could follow through with it.  If I went into it giving myself permission to do anything, that is when disaster would strike.  I decided that I would have a couple little treats during the day too.  For lunch, we had an awesome stroganoff.  I had less noodles, and less in portion.  Of course, I had a small piece of Sues celebration cake too.  But not overdoing it, which was important.  I felt like I was in conrol and did a good job.  Its ok to live while you are changing the way you think about the foods you eat.  Enjoy life, and let yourself live it!

Day Seven

Ok, so today is the DAY!  I am so excited to share with you the changes I have made, and the way I plan to lose the weight.  Today is Friday, and it is going to be a great one!!!

I must share that when I got on the scale this morning my first weeks weight loss is exactly 12 pounds. WAHOO!!!   I bet you can hear me screaming the happy song right now, wherever you are.  This is SO COOL!  I am really happy, and know that taking this happy along the rest of the journey will be important.  Not every week will be fantastic on the scale like this was, and I am ok with that.  This certainly is a great jump start though.  I did my best, and followed the plan...
I had to do what Oprah always says..." surround yourself with people that are smarter than you".  I am no expert in healthy weight loss, and I did not want to get overwhelmed with making a plan based on my health, diet needs etc...so I met with someone who could professionally do this for me.   Meet LoAnn Madden!

LoAnn is my personal wellness coach.  I met with her before starting my 90 days and she helped me to develop a program that works for me.  She gave me a free shake so that I could see what the products were all about.  LoAnn really listened to my needs, my lifestyle and created a custom plan.  She will do the same for you!

So, what is my plan?  Its simple...I am following her recommendations and during the day here is my diet.

2 - Tea ( I drink mine cold and peach is my fave flavor)
2 - Nutritional Shakes - LOVE the Pina Colada with yogurt and banana blended in.
2 - healthy snacks - 2 ounces of cheese, a 1/4 cup of nuts or other recommendations on the list.  I also love to use the Creamy Chicken soup, or the Vanilla Almond Protein Bars.
LoAnn says for dinner, to have a colorful plate!  It really is simple, balancing out the protein, veggies/fruits and breads.  She keeps it easy for me to follow and the best thing is that someone else is leading it.  I just follow.

There were a couple of days that I just plain got more hungry than others.  I added another light snack off the list and the day continued as normal.  Just follow the plan, I tell myself:)  Just follow the plan...and it will work.

Honestly, the reason I do not like "diets" is that I do not want to think about an entire lifestyle change.  Its overwhelming!  Even though I understand that it has to change, I need to make it  more manageable for me.  I have a busy life, REALLY busy and having someone else work with me to make a plan I can follow is definitely the way for me.

Added to the plan LoAnn has helped me with, is the additon of exercise of course.  I have started working out again with some of the basics of Gunner Petersons core workout.  It is easy for me and I love it.

Find a way that works for you...there is a right way for you too.  Some people love going to the gym.  Thats very cool.  I prefer to work out at home, and if it works for you just do it!

So today, at 12 pounds lighter I am choosing to celebrate the first big step.  Long way to go?  Yes, but why dwell on that.  Its the same as when I exercise...and instead of counting down, I count what I have achieved.

Day Six

Approaching the end of week one and I am still really excited about making this big change.  I dont know about you, but I kinda obsess about my weight and the size I am...Did you ever see the movie " Whats Eating Gilbert grape?"  Well, one of the reasons I love the movie is that Johnny Depp is in it and he has never disappointed me in a performance.  What a character, but one of the lines in the movie really makes me think.  There is a discussion between Gilbert's ( Johnny) girlfriend and his Mother.  Now, his Mother is a very large woman and is embarassed by her size.  She says to the girlfriend " I wasn't always like this" and the girlfriend says " Well, I wasn't always like this."

It is interesting to think about how people perceive themselves and how they value things differently.  I have friends that apologise for things in their lives and I feel just awful that they have a need to do that.  It's ok.  This is where you are.  This is what you need help with...These are the things in your life that are overwhelming, but that does NOT define who you are.  Who you are is the person inside, that wants to be free.  Living your life as an example instead of being held down by yourself is a big challenge.  Who do you want to be?  Whats holding you back from being that person?

Check back tomorrow for the entire scoop on what I am doing, the progress of the first week and a fun photo that will make you laugh:)

Day Five

Wednesday mornings...networking group for me and I love it!  It is an early meeting but one that I really look forward to.  Well today was a little rough, running late and I almost skipped breakfast.  Now this USED to be the norm, just eating when I did...but now its different.  Now I have a plan and I did not want to mess it up already!

Planning is the one thing that once in place, can help guide you to success.  How many times do you hear people panic in situations when there is a lack of options.  Think about someone you might know that has run out of money before the paycheck hits the bank?  With a good backup in place for those minor set backs, there could be enough in there to cushion a little emergency.  Why not do the same with your life, diet, job, kids...anything that runs better with a plan in place?

Back to today...
Sure I had short time, but I had a mini exercise time, and definitely took the time to stick with the plan in order to stay on track.  I have only 85 more days to lose this and I am pushing through those challenges.  I did it, took the time and made myself proud for doing it.  What are you doing for YOU???

Come back on Friday, it will be a GREAT day full of photos, and an explaination of my new plan.  It is working for me even faster than I thought it could!

Day Four

Exercise is SO not how I wanted to start the day...truly, at 5am the only thing I could think of was my evening class Tecki Tuesday.  I really wanted to get right onto the computer and get a jump start on my blogs, FB, Twitter, and networking groups.  Exercise?  It would have been simple to just blow right by that thought all together.  But I have a committment to myself.  If I am not really working this new plan to the max of my capabilities, how can I expect others to believe in me?  And so, the thoughts of other things had to go...for a little while anyway.

Exercise has changed for me over the years.  Remember the days of Jane Fonda and her lower body workout?  I do, and it was SO much fun.  I loved dancing to the music and getting the moves just right.  That was a challenge that was a blast to take on...and then there was the  health clubs.  We joined US Swim and Fitness around the time that Sara was born, so about 19 years ago.  I had the best time doing the step aerobics to the original version of " Life is a Highway".  Ok, I love the new version that Rascal Flatts has now too. Moving along, there was the Windsor Pilates  movement.  I absolutely love this as I danced as a kid and it was easy for me to balance and also do the motions.  This is the only version of Pilates that I loved although there are many on the market.  Oh, remember Gunnar Peterson's workout with the big grey ball came out?  I thought that was the BEST!  It was really fun for me again, and I dove right into it...still do that one actually, just that once a month doesnt cut it anymore:)  Time to change that to once a day...

The idea that exercise is always there and there are many ways to enjoy it.  It is not the same for everyone, you have to find what works for YOU!

People are like snowflakes, and God made every one different.  We all need to take some action to be healthy, as it is tough.  The decisions that we make everyday will afffect the rest of our lives.  The food we eat, when and where we eat it, how much we take in...those are things to really think about when making the choices we do.  And exercise...that is a big part of it.

I have to say I love those TV ads where the old guy is dancing.  The idea is to move it, no  matter what you have to do.  The guy is so fun to watch and I understand.  It is about doing what you can, when you can.  That group of ads is motivating, for sure.

Back to exercise...today I added a full set of my regular workout to the day.  My gosh, I only  have another 86 days to do this.  But it will not stop there.  This is a new choice, and a new way of life for me.  I got to be casual for the last 44 years, now its time to get serious.  I  am excited to see the results!

Check back everyday of course, but Friday especially...the most unflattering of photos is to be posted starring me:)  AND I will let you in on my plan.  Oh, and its weigh in day to see how much I have lost in the first 7 days.  You wont wanna miss it!

Day Three

Monday morning...and I am really starting to believe in this new way of thinking.  Monday is always a fun day for me, as I love the fresh start to a week almost as much as I love the first snowfall.  That says a lot, as I am a total snowflake fan!   What is so cool about Mondays?  You get to start over every 7 days!

Today is the first of the many Mondays to come in my new plan, to lose 50 pounds in 90 days.  Yes, without medication or surgery, which by the way I am totally supportive of if that is what YOUR plan is.  I am just letting you know about my own personal plan.  Sooo...Lets get started!

Over the first two  full days of my new plan I have thought about what and how I eat.  I have come to realize several things.

1.  Eating when you should, and when you think you should are two different things.

2.  Eating the wrong things does not substitute for a good meal or snack.

3.  Eating is a hard thing to adjust, as it is a habit.  But one you cannot live without.  Fix it when you can:)

Yesterday when I was working with my plan, I had a revalation.  I had scheduled what I would have for breakfast, lunch and two snacks.  I knew what my drinks would be during the day and how many.  And dinner, what it would be ( not the specific foods, just how much and general know) and when it would be time to eat it.  Dinner is always on the table at 6 at my house anyway, but this has become important especially when changing other parts of a days meals.  With a plan, you know what to do and what to expect.  Without a plan,  how can you possibly succeed?  You cant get to another destination in your car without knowing how to get there, can you?

Three things I am doing every morning to help this work.  First, know what the plan for the day is.  Where will you be, and what is your meal/snack plan.  Second, know that every day is a new day.  Make each one a little better, and remember that this is my choice to lose it.  Third, believe in your goal!  I absolutely believe that in just 87 more days, I will be 50 pounds lighter than when I started!

Today I add some exercise to the plan...and I am really looking forward to it.  The dance party on our xbox was super fun yesterday with my daughter.  Today, its all about me:)  Isnt it time that you put YOU first???  Join me and lets be losers together!  Plan reveal in just 4 more days!!!  Check back, and watch the top for my new page on Friday sharing what I am doing.

Day Two

Sunday morning and the paper is here already!  YAY PAPERBOY!  We are just sitting here relaxing on the morning of the last day of vacation for the kids and the long holiday weekend.  I am inspired by the peace of it all.  It is going to be a great day!

Yesterday being day one, it is always exciting to be in the midst of a new plan.  Losing this weight is going to improve my life so much and I just cant WAIT!  I wish I could blink and make it all magically disappear.  Wouldnt that be nice?  Instead I must wait for results, something I am not very good at.  Patience can be a struggle with me.  You see, I really love being in control.  I know, it is weird to say out loud but I really cant stand the thought of being "out" of control.

So many times you hear that phrase where people that are overweight are out of control...well for me, I am totally in control.  I am choosing to do all of the things that I do everyday and the way I take care of me is a choice.  Everything that I do, see, act on, eat, it is all a choice.  Why  have I not chosen to do something earlier?  Hmmm, that is a hard one.  I have lost some of the weight a few times over the years.  Once I got to a pretty nice size when my second daughter came along, but then a few months later I was pregnant again with our oldest son.  That was a fat pregnancy!!!  I gained 50 with him...strange since I only gained 15 with the one before.  Oh, the rambling sometimes...:)  Anyway, I gave myself permission to gain the weight.  That was my choice, and I could have done much better.  Well, now I have given myself permission to lose it.

Today as you roll through your list of activities, chores, and busy days I want you to ask yourself what choices you have?  what are your options?  what are you in control of?  I think I totally went off the deep end chosing to lose 50 pounds but I am in total control of making it as far as I can.  It is my choice.

Day One

WHEW!  This has been a long time coming...I am SO excited to say that I have a big goal.  I am going to lose the baby weight!  Ok, yes I know that my youngest kiddo is now 12.    That just makes it more fun to say out loud...my goal of losing 50 pounds in 90 days is on!  Let the party begin...

For me it is simple.  I just have to do this and know that it is time.   I do not like the weight so it is long overdue, and today being January 1st 2011, it is perfect timing too.  I have a plan, and will be sharing that with you as I go.  It is time to be healthy!  I have a trip planned to Cancun in just a few weeks, and knowing that in all of my photos I will look better thrills me.  Also, the last plane trip I had was SUPER uncomfortable.  Hours trapped in a horrible seat feeling like I was too big for it.  It was not fun.  And the clothes?  Seriously, who makes comfortable clothes that fit for big girls, that do not look like Moo-moos.  It is a nightmare.  I am SO ready for this.

Why do I weight this much?  Seriously, for me it is all about not thinking.  If I really thought about what I was doing, not exercising much and eating the wrong food, and too much of them, I would have seen this coming a long time ago.  I am a busy person, and just run from one thing to the next.  I love it!  I really do love being energetic, and having so many irons in the fire all of the time.  Thats my story, but I have heard so many times that there are emotional reasons behind eating for many people.  I guess I have a lot to learn about losing the weight and will be sharing my progress with the lessons I take in.

Check back daily as I plan to inspire you to do the same in your life.  Believe that ANYTHING is possible!
